US Private sector should have full clarity on what’s happening in Xinjiang before operating there: State Department

In a statement the U.S. State Department said, the private sector should have full clarity on what is transpiring in Xinjiang, China.

The statement comes at a time when the Biden Administration has decided it will not send government officials to the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing citing gross violations of human rights in Xinjiang, China.

“We want the private sector to be fully cognizant and to operate with full information with regard to what is transpiring in Xinjiang,” said State Department spokesman Ned Price while adding, it is not the government’s role to dictate practices that are to be followed by the private sector.
