In a statement Facebook Inc said, it has appointed Alex Schultz, a company veteran, as its new chief marketing officer.
Schultz “runs product growth, analytics and internationalization” at Facebook Inc.
A former eBay Inc employee, Schultz is set to replace Antonio Lucio as FB’s marketing chief.
Lucio left Facebook earlier this month.
“I believe deeply in the economic empowerment it (online marketing) can bring, its ability to show people more tailored, relevant, less annoying ads,” said Schultz.
Schultz joined Facebook as an analyst in 2007.
According to his LinkedIn account, he is the executive sponsor for Facebook’s global LGBTQ group.
