The Farnborough Airshow is an opportunity for both, Boeing Co and Airbus SE, to garner fresh orders. Although Boeing landed the first order from the show, Airbus is likely to soon catch up and zoom ahead.

On Monday, at the very onset of the opening of the Farnborough Airshow, Boeing Co disclosed it had won an order to 14 777 freighter worth $4.7 billion at list price.

Boeing stated, German logistics group DHL had placed the order and had acquired purchasing rights for seven more freighters.
