In a news report, Iraq’s state news agency INA reported, Baghdad has signed defense contracts with the Washington and Paris towards the import of advanced weapons which will strengthen its artillery.

The report citing a senior military commander said, long-range artillery weapons had proven to be effective against terrorists from the Islamic State.

The report did not mention on the types of weapons which are being purchased; it also did not mention any other details of the contracts.
