U.S. to look at restricting exports of certain sensitive technologies to China: Senior official

According to a senior official from the Biden Administration, the United States is looking to add “new targeted restrictions” on exports of certain sensitive technologies to China in cooperation with allies.

The official spoke ahead of Biden’s first call with Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

Washington will also not lift trade tariffs on China imposed by the Trump Administration; it may however do so after “intense consultation and review” with allies, said the official.

The Bidden Administration has quietly reversed a rule which barred China’s Confucius Institutes to influence U.S. schools and universities; China’s Confucius Institutes allegedly acts as a front for the PLA’s propaganda.
