British car parts will attract EU tariffs, with or without a deal: BBC

In a report the BBC said, the UK has so far failed to persuade the EU to accept car parts from Japan and Turkey as British when they are used in Britain, thus implying that such automotive exports from Britain will attract EU tariffs even within the framework of a trade deal.

In a letter from Britain’s chief Brexit negotiator David Frost to the British car industry, Frost said, the UK had so far failed to get the car parts deal it wants and “obviously cannot insist on it”.
