Private equity firm Carlyle Group to invest $2 billion in India’s Reliance Industries’ retail business

On Monday, Mint, a financial daily has reported citing sources aware of the development, that the Carlyle Group is eyeing to invest up to $2 billion in India’s Reliance Industries’ retail business.

If the deal goes through, Carlyle’s investment would mark its first investment in India’s fast growing retail sector.

Neither Reliance nor Carlyle immediately responded to requests for comments.
