Following the imposition of China’s draconian security law over Hong Kong in clear violation of the 1984 Joint Declaration between Britain and China, U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order blocking the U.S. property of persons who helped undermine democratic institutions in Hong Kong; it also includes other measures.
According to the text of the order released, by the White House, the executive order also revokes license exceptions for exports to Hong Kong and eliminates the preference for Hong Kong passport holders, in comparison to China.
