Bruno Le Maire to take stock of French automotive industry this week

On Monday, French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire stated, he would be holding new meetings later this week with representatives of the country’s automotive industry which has been hit hard by the coronavirus.

In an interview to BFM Business radio he said, he regretted a decision by the CGT trade union which prevented the reopening of a Renault plant at Sandouville.

The French government is ramping up efforts to kickstart the economy which has cooled down because of lockdown measures.

In April 2019, the European Commission approved a $5.4 billion (5 billion euros) loan guarantee to help Renault mitigate the impact of the coronavirus crisis.
