U.S.-China trade negotiations could start next week: Bloomberg

On Thursday, a report from Bloomberg citing sources familiar with the matter at hand, said, trade negotiations between the United States and China through phone calls could commence as early as next week.

The call will include U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and Chinese Vice Premier Liu He.

The talks are likely to revolve around progress in implementing the Phase 1 trade deal.

U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened to terminate the deal if China did not adhere to the terms of the agreement.

The talks comes in the background of an increase in tensions between Washington and Beijing over the origin of the Wuhan coronavirus.
