On Tuesday, Standard Chartered stated, by 2024 it will $75 billion in financing towards clean energy projects and sustainable development.
The development sees Standard Chartered aligning its aspirations in support of the Paris Agreement on climate change.
In a statement, it said it is targeting net zero emissions from its own network of branches and offices by 2030.
The move comes in the wake of a broader shift among financial institutions worldwide to tackle their role in funding fossil fuel projects midst growing public concern on climate change.
