Jonathan Symonds is HSBC’s deputy chairman. His appointment to the post, still under negotiations, will be subject to approval from banking regulators.
Bloomberg has reported citing a source familiar with the matter at hand as saying, GlaxoSmithKline Plc is in talks to name HSBC’s deputy chairman, Jonathan Symonds, as its next chairman.
Symonds’ appointment, which is still in the works, is subject to approval from banking regulators.
Earlier this year in January, GSK’s Chairman Philip Hampton stated he would be stepping down after more than three and a half years in the role.
GSK did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
