Amazon plans on opening a new warehouse in Germany’s western city Moenchengladbach, by the end of this year.

Amazon.com Inc, the world’s biggest online retailer stated, it plans on opening a new warehouse in Germany later this year. The move is likely to create 2,800 jobs with permanent contracts in what is its second-biggest market after the United States.

By the end of this year, following the opening of the new warehouse, Amazon’s total employee strength in Germany will be more than 20,000 across more than 35 sites.

Its 13th warehouse in Germany would be in Germany’s western city – Moenchengladbach.
