Although Ghosn’s lawyers did not specify the reasons for cancelling the news conference, earlier in April he had been rearrested after scheduling a news conference.

On Friday, lawyers of Carlos Ghosn, the former Chairman of the Renault-Nissan alliance stated, he has canceled what would have been his first news conference since his arrest following concerns raised by his daughters.

The news conference was cancelled two hours after journalists were notified about the planned briefing by Ghosn which was due to be held at the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Japan (FCCJ).

Ghosn’s daughters have expressed concern about the potential consequences of him speaking publicly, following his re-arrest earlier this year, said his lawyer, Junichiro Hironaka.
