While Office Depot will pay $25 million, Support.com will be paying $10 million.
The U.S. Federal Trade Commission stated, Office Depot Inc and Support.com Inc, a software firm, have agreed to pay $35 million to settle its charges that they allegedly tricked consumers into buying computer repair services.
While Office Depot, has agreed to pay $25 million, Support.com has agreed to pay $10 million, for allegedly deceived customers by claiming software had found malware symptoms on their computers, said the FTC.
The FTC said it intends to use the money to provide refunds to consumers.
