Bente Avnung Landsnes’ experience in working with Denmark’s financial watchdog is likely to be an important factor in her candidacy.
The Board of Directors of Danske Bank, has nominated Bente Avnung Landsnes, the CEO of Oslo Bors ASA, as its candidate for election at its annual general meeting on March 18.
“I have broad experience of both banks and the capital markets over several years, also in working together with the FSA,” said Landsnes in reference to Denmark’s financial watchdog.
Scandal-hit Danske is under intense scrutiny in various countries including in the United States, France, Denmark, Britain and Estonia, over $226 billion (200 billion euros) in payments from Russia and elsewhere that were found to have flowed through its Estonian unit.
