In July 2018 during sample test checking, Nissan found various instances wherein fuel economy and emission testing did not match those set by Japan for domestic standard. A recall of the affected cars is likely.
On Thursday, Japanese daily Nikkei reported, Nissan Motor Co has found more instances of improper testing of vehicles in Japan and is weighing options to recall the affected cars.
Over the past year, Nissan had revealed a few cases of improper inspections: in July it stated it found that sample testing for emissions and fuel economy in final inspections at most of its factories in Japan did not meet domestic standards.
