Deutsche Bank AG mulling high-level shakeup

Sylvie Matherat, Deutsche’s chief regulatory officer and a potential departee, has expressed concerns regarding constraints on improving financial-crime controls and mending the bank’s relationships with regulators.

As per a report from the Wall Street Journal, Deutsche Bank AG is mulling a high-level shake up that could potentially see top executives who are central to its relationships with key regulators in the United States and Europe, departing the bank.

As per sources cited in the report, the names of potential executives who could depart include Sylvie Matherat, Deutsche’s chief regulatory officer as well as Tom Patrick, CEO of Deutsche’s Americas region.

The report has also cited Matherat, a board member, as expressing unhappiness with what she described, to some associates, as constraints on improving financial-crime controls and mending the bank’s relationships with regulators.

Deutsche Bank was not immediately available for comment.
