Of the 24 years Indra Nooyi has was with PepsiCo, she served 12 years as its CEO. Under her PepsiCo’s shares rose by 78%.
On Monday, PepsiCo Inc disclosed that its Chief Executive Indra Nooyi would be stepping down from the top position and named Ramon Laguarta, the company’s president as her replacement.
Laguarta is set to take over from Nooyi on October 3. Nooyi, 24, served at the top position for the last 12 years and has been with the company for 24 years. She will continue to be chairman of the board until early 2019.
In his role as president of PepsiCo, Laguarta, a 22-year veteran oversaw global operations, public policy, corporate strategy, and government affairs.
Before becoming president of the company, he served as its CEO of its Europe Sub-Saharan Africa division.
Since Nooyi took the job in 2006, PepsiCo’s shares have risen by 78%.
