China’s National Textile and Apparel Council opposes U.S. tariffs

China is ramping up direct and indirect pressures on Washington.

On Friday, China’s National Textile and Apparel Council stated it was deeply concerned with the escalating trade dispute between the United States and China.

As per a statement on its website, it resolutely opposes any additional U.S. tariffs on Chinese textile and textile equipment exports.

Last week, the United States imposed 25% tariffs on exports of Chinese of goods to the U.S. worth $34 billion which drew retaliatory and complementary duties by Beijing on U.S. exports to China of the same amount.
