The U.S. and China nearing deal to lift U.S. ban on ZTE Corp

The potential deal underscores the strategic importance tech know-how and market influence are to Beijing while Washington focuses on trade and slashing its trade deficit with China.

As per two sources briefed on the talks between the United States and China, the duo are nearing a deal aimed at removing the existing order to ban U.S. firms from supplying components and technology to China’s ZTE Corp.

Sources preferred the cover of anonymity since the negotiations were confidential.

The potential deal could include China removing tariffs on U.S. agricultural products as well as hiking up their imported quantities.
