Ryanair pushing for the purchase of 200 Boeing 737 MAX jets

The fact that the Irish low-cost airliner is putting all of its available financial resources behind this purchase is indicative of its aggressive expansion plans.

On Tuesday, Ryanair’s CEO Michael O’Leary stated the airliner expects to exercise “pretty much all” of its available options to purchase 200 Boeing 737 MAX .

The Boeing 737 MAX offers lower fuel consumption and greater seating capacity than the aircrafts in its portfolio.

“I expect we will exercise pretty much all of these options as they come due to exercise two years prior to delivery,” said O’Leary at a news conference in Brussels.
