The Nikkei had earlier reported a 50% cut in iPhone X’s production target.

A senior executives from Japan’s Murata Manufacturing Co stated that the production cut for Apple’s iPhone X, is overstated.

Murata, which supplies components for the iPhone X, stated that it has not seen a drop in its orders commensurate with reported sharp drop in the iPhone X’s production target.

On Monday, Japanese daily Nikkei had reported Apple has cuts the production target for the iPhone X by 50%, for the first three months of the year, to around 20 million units.

“Our understanding is that it is not that great,” said Yoshitaka Fujita, vice chairman of Murata, when asked to comment on the Nikkei’s report.
