Tesla’s pickup truck to begin production in mid-2019

Its tentative schedule of production is mid-2019.

Tesla’s CEO, Elon Musk stated it will soon build a pickup truck after producing the Model Y, an electric crossover vehicle.

“I promise that we will make a pickup truck right after Model Y. Have had the core design/engineering elements in my mind for almost 5 years. Am dying to build it,” tweeted Musk.

In June Tesla had reported that Tesla will build the Model Y on the same platform as its Model 3 sedan, with its tentative production scheduled for mid-2019.

In July, Tesla had stated, as part of its “master plan”, a plan to develop a commercial truck, a public transport bus and a compact sport utility vehicle.
