Despite facing strong headwinds this year, Britain’s WPP has managed to retain not only the big names in its client roster but Ford Motor to it as well.
On Tuesday, Britain-based WPP, disclosed that Ford Motor Company, one of its major clients, has informed of its intention to continue being its clients for an undisclosed period beginning from 2018.
In 2017, the advertising agency had faced strong headwinds from many clients owing to a wave of competition that had forced it to pursue for renewing and getting new contracts, more aggressively.
With companies, including BP, Vodafone, Unilever and Chanel, on its client roster, the company stated it has been verbally informed by Ford that the U.S. carmaker was considering entering into an internal and external marketing model with it for a yet-to-be agreed period in 2018.
“WPP is considering the proposal and is in discussion with Ford on next steps,” said the company.
With this news reaching the market, WPP’s shares rose by 2.6% at 1345 GMT.
