This scenario will come into play if May’s government wins a landslide victory in the June 8 elections.
British news daily, The Telegraph has reported citing ministers who prefer the cover of anonymity, Prime Minister Theresa May could potentially replace Philip Hammond as her finance minister with interior minister Amber Rudd, if her government wins a landslide victory in the June 8 elections.
Senior government sources have been quoted as saying, they could “see it happening” since Rudd has the required qualities to run Britain’s finance ministry.
Her friends have confirmed that if the post was offered to her she would accept it.
A spokesman for May’s Conservative Party dismissed the suggestion saying it was “complete speculation, rather irrelevant speculation before an election.”
