The Courier Newspaper in Dundee has reported that British Prime Minister Theresa May is secretly working on a strategy to deal with Scotland’s demand for a second independence referendum.
In a significant development for the UK, the Scottish government has informed its workers that they should ready themselves for a second independence referendum with Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon all set to demand the legal right to another constitutional vote.
When asked to respond to requests for comments, the Scottish government was not immediately available for comment.
Ever since British Prime Minister, Theresa May, unveiling her “hard Brexit” strategy, support for Scotland’s independence has risen to new heights, as per an opinion poll taken on Wednesday.
In 2014, 55% of Scots had voted to remain in the United Kingdom while 45% preferred independence. However, 2015’s June 23 referendum has changed the landscape and a majority of Scots had voted to remain within EU’s single market bloc.
According to The Courier Newspaper in Dundee, May was secretly working on ways to scuttle Sturgeon’s demand for a second independence referendum.
