U.S. President Joe Biden has signed an executive order prohibiting trade and investment by U.S. individuals in the two breakaway regions of eastern Ukraine which have been recognized by Russia as being independent, said the White House.

The executive order prohibits “new investment” by an American, wherever located, and the “importation into the United States, directly or indirectly, of any goods, services, or technology from the covered regions.”
