On Monday, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said, from February 21, 2022, Australia will reopen its borders to all vaccinated visa holders.

For nearly two years Australia had shut its borders to non-citizens to mitigate threats from the Coronavirus which was first reported in Wuhan, China.

“If you’re double vaccinated, we look forward to welcoming you back to Australia,” said Morrison in a media briefing.

Since late last year, Australia had been pursuing a staggered reopening of the border and has allowed skilled migrants, backpackers and international students to enter the country.
