An executive member of Lufthansa has been quoted as saying, the airlines aims to win back business travelers by boosting the number of flights and improving in-flight catering.
Currently, the German airline is carrying around 50% of the passengers it flew before the coronavirus pandemic; it is flying to 88% of pre-pandemic destinations.
“Daily frequencies will increase on many connections,” said Christina Foerster, a member of Lufthansa’s board for Customer, IT & Corporate Responsibility, to the Funke media group. “This is important for business travelers who want to fly there and back on the same day.”
Foerster also mentioned, “Lufthansa would add a midday flight on particularly popular routes and that it will introduce new menus for premium customers from Sept. 1, combining German cuisine with international influences”.
He went on to add, the airline is prepared for an increase in demand when travel to the US reopens.
