In a statement Russia’s economy ministry said, according to its estimate Russian goods, including cement, iron ore, steel, aluminum, pipes, and electricity, worth $7.6 billion could be subject to a European Union carbon border tax once it is adopted.
Earlier on Wednesday, the European Commission had put forward its plans to create the world’s first carbon border tax on select imports as part of a program to meet its new climate target.
