In a report, The Daily Telegraph said, Britain plans on dropping its COVID-19 passports as a legal requirement for large events.
Officials who are reviewing the status of COVID-19 certificates believe that there is no scope in UK law that allows the mandate to use COVID-19 passports as legal requirement within the UK.
A spokesman for the government said, the COVID-19 vaccine certification review is currently under process and no decision has been made yet.
The prospect of the UK’s vaccine certificates had triggered concerns among the Conservative Party, civil rights group and opposition lawmakers.
In April, Prime Minister Boris Johnson had signaled that the COVID-19 vaccine certification faced headwinds from ethical issues.
