On Friday, while adding an event via a video link, Elon Musk said Tesla was close to establishing a presence in Russia and was looking at options to see whether it could open a factories in the country.

While Tesla has production facilities in many countries including, the United States and China, it was looking at opening production facilities in other parts of the world as well.
