In a statement, Volkswagen AG’s Mexican unit said, workers are scheduled to be back in its plant Puebla on Tuesday.
The development underscores VW’s intent to prepare its workers and train them at mitigating COVID-19 related protocols so that production at the plant can resume.
Incidentally, VW and its luxury brand Audi, have major plants in the central Mexican city of Puebla.
Last week, authorities had said, they are not ready to reopen the automotive sector because of coronavirus related concerns.
Mexico has registered more than 17,000 deaths from the pandemic.
