In a statement, General Motors Co said, by the end of April it will start producing 1.5 million face masks a month at its Mexican factory, located in the city of Toluca and will aim to produce 9 million masks in the next six months to help curb the spread of the coronavirus.

Some masks have been earmarked for donation to public hospitals in Mexico while others will be used for employees and distributors, said GM’s Mexican unit in a statement.
