JLR to suspend production at UK facilities from next week

Late on Thursday, as a measure to stop the spread of the Wuhan coronavirus, Jaguar Land Rover said it will temporarily halt production at its UK manufacturing facilities from next week. Production is likely to resume in the week of April 20.

Production is ongoing at Jaguar Land Rover’s plants in India and in Brazil, said the luxury automaker in an emailed statement.

On Wednesday, the Tata Motors-owned carmaker had said, it would suspend production at its Slovakia-based Nitra plant from Friday due to China’s Wuhan coronavirus which has gone pandemic and which has so far infected 3,269 people in Britain and killed 144.
