On Friday, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology stated, Tesla Inc has secured an approval from the government to sell a longer-range Chinese-made model 3 vehicles in the country.

These Model 3 vehicles will have a driving range of more than 600 kilometers before they need to be recharged, said the ministry in a statement. In comparison the standard China-made Model 3 has a driving range of more than 400 kilometers.

Tesla started delivering cars in December from its $2 billion factory in Shanghai.
