Turkey and Libya to engage international firms for locating hydrocarbon resources

In a statement Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan disclosed, Turkey and Libya are likely to engage international companies to search for oil and gas deposits in the eastern Mediterranean. The development comes in the wake of a deal signed by both governments on maritime borders.

In November, Tripoli and Turkey signed a deal on drilling for natural gas, a deal Turkey had said was aimed at defending its rights in the region.
