General Electric ropes in AP Moller-Maersk’s finance chief as its CFO

In the latest slew of management changes at General Electric Co, the U.S. industrial conglomerate has named Carolina Dybeck Happe, who is currently the Chief Financial Officer at shipper AP Moller-Maersk, as its finance chief.

Happe will commence work in early 2020 and will replace Jamie Miller, whose departure was announced earlier this year. GE’s Chief Executive Officer Larry Culp, is seeking to simplify and revive operations after booking billions of dollars in losses.

Following a series of poor long-term financial bets, which have hammered its share price to as low as $6.4 in December 2018, from highs above $50 in 2000, GE is struggling with the effects of these fallouts.

Furthermore, GE’s aviation business, which makes engines for planemaker Boeing, has come under pressure from the worldwide grounding of the 737 MAX.
