IKEA France to invest $448 million to expand its footprint in Paris

IKEA France opened its first brick-and-mortar store in the Madeleine district of Paris.It plans on expanding its footprint with more new stores while at the same time allow consumers to shop for furniture online.

On Monday, IKEA France’s chief executive Walter Kadnar stated it plans on investing $448 million (400 million euros) in the state over the next three years.

Kadnar unveiled IKEA France’s plans in the opening of its first store in Paris’ Madeleine district.

IKEA, the world’s largest furniture retailer, is known for its massive self-service out-of-town stores. It now intends to transform its business model which was earlier was focussed on its brick-and-mortar stores to modern consumers who prefer to shop online and have furniture delivered to their doors.
