EU to impose import restrictions on steel

The development comes in the wake of U.S. President Donald Trump’s imposition of metals tariffs on the bloc.

On Friday, according to a filing in the European Union’s official journal, the EU is set to impose import limits on steel following U.S. President Donald Trump’s imposition of metals tariffs on the bloc.

As a result, all steel imports into the bloc will be subject to quotas until July 2021 so as to take care of concerns of steel producers from the Eurozone, who opine, European markets could be flooded by steel products that are no longer being imported into the United States.
