Volkswagen has maintained that there is no way consumers can establish intentional harm caused by dieselgate in Germany.
On Wednesday, Verbraucherzentrale (vzbv), a German consumer protection organization stated, it would file a class action lawsuit against Volkswagen on November 1, 2018.
The class action lawsuit will focus on VW’s diesel engines vehicles of type EA 189, said vxbv while adding that it aims to establish that consumers had been intentionally harmed by VW’s usage of tweaking the engine’s software to fool emission test results.
Volkswagen, the EU’s biggest carmaker, stated, the possibility of class action suits did not change its position that there is “no legal basis for consumers to make claims in connection to the diesel issue in Germany”.
