Ralf Brandstaetter to be named as VW’s Chief Operating Officer

Ralf Brandstaetter will assume the new role in addition to his existing responsibilities.

On Tuesday, German daily Bild reported citing a source familiar with the matter at hand as saying,

Volkswagen, Europe’s biggest carmaker, is likely to name Ralf Brandstaetter as its Chief Operating Officer.

Brandstaetter is likely to take on the new job in addition to his existing responsibilities, said the source.

Brandstaetter appointment comes in the wake of Herbert Diess, Volkswagen’s new CEO undertaking a most strategic overhauling of the company in its history as he seeks to unify feuding factions that have often acted as a drag on reforms.
