Japan calls on joint efforts with U.S.to block Chinese market-distorting investment practices

The requests came on the sidelines of the G7 finance ministers meeting in Canada.

As per a senior official from Japan’s ministry of finance, Tokyo has called on the United States to join its efforts in stopping Beijing from making investment practices that distort the market itself.

The comments, made by the senior official on the sidelines of the bilateral finance leaders’ meeting, was repeated by Japanese Finance Minister Taro Aso to his American counterpart Steven Mnuchin; Taro Aso also requested the U.S. to provide a permanent exemption to Japanese steel and aluminum goods exports to the U.S.
