Uber Technologies wants VMWare’s Zane Rowe as its CFO

Uber needs to fill the post of the CFO before it launches its IPO in 2019.

As per a Bloomberg report, Uber Technologies Inc has selected VMware Inc’s Zane Rowe as its top candidate for the post of chief financial officer (CFO) as it prepares to launch its initial public offering in 2019.

Rowe, is currently the CFO at VMWare. According to sources familiar with the matter at hand, Uber Technologies is in advanced talks with him for jumping ship.

Since a formal agreement is yet to be reached, talks could fall through at any moment.

The position of CFO has been vacant in Uber since 2015. Ever since its board of directors agreed to take it public in 2019, the ride services company has been on the lookout to fill the post.

VMware declined to comment.

Uber was not immediately available for comment outside regular U.S. business hours.
