Foxconn’s proposed LCD Display plant at Wisconsin gets approved by Wisconsin’s State Assembly

The overwhelming approval by Wisconsin’s State Assembly is despite financial concerns raised by the state’s Legislative Audit Bureau.

On Thursday, the Republican-controlled Wisconsin State Assembly has voted 59-30 to approve a bill that paves the way for a $3 billion incentives package for Foxconn’s LCD Display plant.

The plan will now have to be approved by the joint finance committee, which has both Wisconsin State Senate members and members of the Assembly; it has to also get the approval from the state Senate before going to the governor.

Incidentally, both the finance committee and state Senate are controlled by Republicans.
