There have been several reports by leading news reporters which increase the probability of this 6 billion pound divesture.
British newspapers have reported that Unilever is preparing a $7.44 billion (6 billion pound) sale of some it’s some of its food brands.
The Sunday Times has reported that Unilever is planning on selling Stork butter and Flora margarine.
The Sunday Telegraph has also reported a 6 billion pounds figure for the potential sale, citing sources.
Sources have also stated, private equity firms CVC Capital, Bain Capital, Clayton Dubilier, have started working on offers for the “spreads” business.
Unilever did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Incidentally last month, Unilever, the manufacturer of Dove soap, Knorr soups, and Ben & Jerry’s ice cream had rejected a surprise $143 billion takeover offer from Kraft Heinz.
Last week, the Financial Times had reported that the company had launched a business review process to consider returning cash to shareholders.
