Fiat Chrysler’s CEO Sergio Marchionne has been an advocate of sharing the costs of cleaner next gen advance technology.
The CEO of Europe’s biggest carmaker, Volkswagen AG, has stated he is yet to rule out talks on the potential acquisition of Fiat Chrysler with the company’s boss Sergio Marchionne.
“I am not ruling out a conversation,” said Mueller after the carmaker’s annual earnings press conference in Wolfsburg.
It has been a while now that Marchionne has been advocating the car industry to share the costs of making cleaner and more technologically advanced vehicles.
“It would be very helpful if Mr Marchionne were to communicate his considerations to me too and not just to you,” said Mueller. “I am pretty confident about the future of Volkswagen, with or without Marchionne.”
Last week, Mueller appeared to have dismissed the prospects of talks with Fiat Chrysler.
“We are not ready for talks about anything,” said Mueller on the fringes of the Geneva auto show. “I haven’t seen Marchionne for months,” he had said at that time.
