VW and its works council hammer out a $5.5-$6.6 billion cost cutting strategy

Finer burrs are yet to be ironed out. Discussions between the two are still underway, as per anonymous sources.

Manager Magazin has reported citing anonymous sources, Volkswagen’s brand management has agreed with labour leaders to adopt cost cutting measures in its core auto division to the tune of $5.5-$6.6 billion (5-6 billion euros) by 2025.

Sources have further revealed that the talks between the two parties include what has been termed as a future pact which includes cost cutting strategies and improvements for the brand.

As per Manager Magazin, both parties are ironing out finer details and are yet to bring about a finality to their discussions.

VW was not immediately available for comment.

The VW works council declined to comment on the report.
