In contrast to a CNBC report, Tesla Motors has clarified that only deliveries for new orders for the Model 3 will be from 2018. There is no change in deliveries for old orders.
Tesla Motors Inc. has disclosed that customers who have recently placed orders for the Model 3 cars, will be able to take deliveries only from 2018 onwards.
As per Alexis Georgeson, Tesla Motors spokeswoman, customers who had previously booked their Model 3 will get the car in 2017, as per their original delivery schedule.
CNBC had earlier reported that deliveries for Tesla’s Model 3, including those which had been previously booked, has been pushed back to mid-2018 or later.
